Matt Mitson
Benefit Fundraiser

As a child, Matt Mitson courageously battled cancer, enduring radiation treatments and lengthy hospitalizations before believing the disease was finally behind him. Tragically, decades later, the effects of those childhood treatments led to thyroid cancer, and he has now been diagnosed with osteosarcoma—an aggressive form of bone cancer—in the same area of his femur. To make matters even more difficult, Matt had recently been laid off from his job, leaving he and his wife, Chi, to face this life-changing diagnosis with only one source of income.

As Matt begins aggressive chemotherapy and extended hospitalizations, he will be unable to work, while medical expenses, insurance gaps, and everyday living costs continue to grow. Matt and Chi have spent years selflessly serving others in their community, and now they need our support. The Arroyo Family Foundation is honored to host this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden of Matt's treatment and allow him to focus on what matters most—his fight against cancer.

Sgt. Steve Negron Fundraiser

Sgt. Steven Negron has faced many battles in his life. As a law enforcement officer, he took an oath to serve and protect, dedicating the majority of his adult life to that promise. As an FOP President, Sgt. Negron has fought to protect the rights of his members, made it his mission to negotiate a better way of life for them, and has led them fearlessly for many years. As a friend, Steve is always the first one to offer support and brotherhood. You truly cannot ask for a better friend than Steve Negron. As a husband and father, he has made his family his top priority, providing for them, loving them, and showing them what it means to present even when the job pulls him in many directions. Now, Steve faces his newest battle: laryngeal cancer. This diagnosis will require surgery to remove his larynx and will force an early retirement next year. If you know Steve, you know this is a battle he will overcome. It marks a new chapter in the Negron family's life, one filled with hope in Jesus, and faith that the best is yet to come. This battle is a powerful reminder that Every Second Counts! Hug your family, tell them you love them, and be generous to those around you. 2nd Annual Pickleball Tournament

This year's pickleball fundraising tournament was on June 1st, 2024 in an effort to help fund all of TAFCO's missions. This particular event benefited the Padron Family. Det. Padron suffered a gunshot wound while serving an arrest warrant on a violent wanted person in the South Florida area. This injury has prevented Det. Padron from serving the community he loves, but he is working hard to get back out there! Together, we raised over $2000 for the Padron Family!! They are forever grateful for your contributions and generosity.
